As you might have read in my last entry, we've all been doing great on the Alinia (anti-parasitic) for the past two weeks. Well now, the tables are turning and things are changing. The new moon is in three days. Gavin had been reacting to the new moon (always starting the week before the new moon), progressively worse with each passing month. So naturally, I was curious to see what would happen while we were on the Alinia.
Three days from the new moon today
As the new moon approaches, we have sudden changes in Gavin and it looks like I will have to put my foot squarely in my mouth as I tell you that severe the die off has set in! He went from being calm, happy and having fairly decent BMs to being in pain constantly, grabbing his belly and crying that he doesn't feel good and the BMs....wow. A few days ago they began to change, I was noticing they were full of black specs, like pepper, and the consistency was slowly becoming less formed. Black specs are often associated with bad bacteria. This is from the EnzymeStuff website:
"If you start any supplement that might create looser stools, temporary diarrhea, or die-off of yeast or bacteria (like an antibiotic, probiotic, digestive enzymes, antifungal, laxative, etc), you might see dark or black flecks in stool during this 'cleaning out' period. Certain types of adverse bacteria in the colon can produce dark residues and this is getting cleaned out."
I have also read about people who have seen this while doing colon and parasite cleanses. Then two days ago, he began to have explosive diarrhea which has progressed to water and now today, they are burning his skin pretty significantly. The colors have even been changing, progressively getting lighter so I am increasing his liver support. The first couple of days with the watery BMs, his mood was horrendous, today his mood is better, but the stool is still awful and his belly hurts. I was helping him eat a small lunch today and he had just barely finished swallowing his first bite when I distinctly heard his tummy grumble in distress, out loud. Needless to say, his little meal was briskly followed by a visit to the potty. This description of his parasite, from Humaworm, just about sums up his die-off symptoms right now:
"DIENTAMOEBA FRAGILIS - this parasite lives in the large intestines - it is found worldwide. Symptoms include diarrhea, stomach pain and cramping, loss of appetite, weight loss, nausea and fatigue. This parasite infection stays in the large intestine - it does not spread to other parts of the body."
Fluids, fluids and more fluids
On a good note, he's drinking well, and a lot. I've made him an electrolyte drink with coconut water, filtered water, salt and baking soda which he guzzles no problem. I think he has single-handedly downed 32 ounces already just today! He is also still drinking his camel milk and kefir. The milk will offer him the nutrition he's lacking from not eating very much. As long as he keeps the fluids going through him, I feel ok with his condition. His skin is slightly pale, but looks good and supple, cheeks still holding some color, and even though he obviously feels yucky, he is still responding with humor when we interact and play. It seems that the effects today are purely gastrointestinal and that would make sense with parasite die-off.
And what about mommy?
As we ended our last round of chelation, I began to feel nausea that I initially chalked up to the round, but it lasted days and was neck and neck with exhaustion that just won't go away. I've also had much more severe and painful acne and the bulk of it is around my hairline, which I have read can be a symptom of parasites. Today I woke with very achy, painful upper thigh and shoulder muscles and I did not do any manual labor in the past day or two. So it appears that even I am slightly reacting to this phase on the Alinia which would suggest that it's probable that I have the same parasite. This could mean that my assessment of where Gavin contracted it is correct.....in utero? How very disturbing! If only I knew then, what I know now.
This is from the Humaworm site, interesting how the sore muscles are the exact muscles I am feeling pain in!
Parasites can travel to almost all soft tissue including in the joints and muscles where they cause cysts and inflammation that is commonly mistaken as arthritis and muscle pain. The toxins from parasites can also pool in the joints and in muscle tissue causing:
Muscle Pain
Joint Pain
Muscle Cramping
Numbness of the Hands and/or Feet
Heart Pain
Pain in The Navel
Pain in the Back, Thighs or Shoulders
Arthritic Pains
Fast Heartbeat
Uh oh duty calls, quite literally, I think he might have had a blow out during his nap, in his sleep, he's crying now, I better go.
Being mom to a child with several food sensitivities identifies me with a new world, one of caution and education. I never knew reading labels and ingredients could become second nature, who knew that artificial colors and additives could create time bombs, that wheat and dairy could turn a child into a tantrum whirlwind...learn about our journey into the new world of food sensitivities and what they mean. THIS WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING!

Alinia
We've all been on Alinia, an anti-parasitic prescription medicine, for a little over a week and a half. I'm honestly surprised that more DAN! doctors aren't using this in place of meds like Flagyl, which wreak havoc on the body. They could kill two birds with one stone, because in addition to fighting parasites, it also kills anaerobic bacteria like e.coli and clostridia!
The pros we have seen, by comparison to using Flagyl:
We are really hoping this takes care of the parasite for Gavin, he's a different child right now, we feel like we've finally seen the real Gavin come out of his shell. Even Grayson has been effected by it quite a bit, so we are wondering, if he had the parasite undetected or if it was still clostridia at play in low levels. He had started to get a bit grumpy, argumentative and negative for a little bit, now we are seeing our happy-go-lucky boy again. We thought it was age-related stuff, now I am convinced more than ever that the difficult behaviors we see in kids is more than age-related. Every time I've ever thought we could be over-analyzing age-related behaviors, I am proven yet again, that the condition of the gut is in fact related.
The pros we have seen, by comparison to using Flagyl:
- no crazy die-off symptoms
- minimal bowel changes (although they do exist, they are not nearly as bad or as frequent as with the Flagyl, but Gavin is having a lot of black specs in his stool)
- only positive changes like more calmness, focused play, cooperative play with both boys, patience, increased compliance, happiness, no screaming for communication, better communication in general, bellies are lower, I could go on, but I think you get the point.
- and the best news, it doesn't kill off good bacteria (only anaerobic bacteria), so it can be dosed with probiotics and won't compromise the already damaged intestinal landscape!

Oh the joys. Parasites and viruses.
I can't remember a time when we haven't had multiple experiences overlapping each other, graying the fine line that once existed between symptoms and results, cause and effect. I hear myself relentlessly repeating, "it could have been, or it might be..., but I just don't know".
As you may know from reading my blog, Gavin has a parasite called Dientamoeba Fragilis, once labeled as a protozoa/amoeba, but more recently relabeled as a flagellate. Lyme Disease is also a flagellate and as I am reading about the D. Fragilis, I am learning about the similarities they share, such as the many changing forms this parasite has....making it hard for any conclusive fact to be established about it's life cycle and stages. One thing that has been determined is that it doesn't respond the same in a body as it does in a test tube or slide. It isn't even known, if this parasite goes through a cyst change during it's unknown life cycle. We don't know, if it hatches or reproduces with the full moon or new moon, or BOTH. There is overwhelming evidence that these creatures cannot survive outside of the body, suggesting fluid transmittance or the use of another "host" to transmit them successfully from person to person. It is most likely that they are hitching a ride on other parasites like B. Hominis or pinworm, etc.
I have a theory about how Gavin could have gotten infected with this one-celled parasite and perhaps has had it since birth (since all of his symptoms have been there since then). When I was about 19 years old, I experienced a case of pinworm infestation which was ironically short-lived and didn't require treatment. If D. Fragilis hitched a ride way back then, perhaps the pinworm situation resolved itself, but I could have been carrying around the D. Fragilis, asymptotically, which is not very uncommon. Along comes this helpless baby boy who contracted my parasite in utero and never had a chance against infection from the very first breath he took. He was immediately sensitive to foods like dairy and soy, he bloated early on, had torticolis (not sure if it's even related, but part of the big picture of his health), bowel movements varied from constipated to loose from the very first bite of "solid" foods, he had a seizure by the time he was a year old, and mood swings and control freak are understatements! So here we are three years later, with possibly three years of damage from this GI-disturbing parasite.
What does all of this mean for families like ours who are trying tirelessly to rid themselves and/or their children of this monster? It means experimenting with many treatment protocols. We did multiple natural parasite cleanses from Humaworm and Artemesia to W-W from Pure Herbs and even higher doses of black walnut hull. Although he always experienced some level of die-off, the symptoms never seemed to subside fully, he continued to have behaviors that waxed and waned with the moon cycles, very typical of parasite infestation.
Alinia was recommended by our DAN! doctor. He gave us a script for just Gavin, 5 days worth. So I did more research before even considering giving this RX to him. I wanted to know more and had quite a bit of information already under my belt confirming that Alinia should only be used, if the doses are going to be high enough and used for long enough to rid him of this pesky intruder for good. Just giving 5 days of meds could create a super-bug rather than killing it off, especially considering it travels with the ever-resistant B. Hominis which has a very long cyst cycle. When a parasite is in it's cyst form, it is impossible to kill, so that means either knowing it's life cycle (which we don't) or treating for an entire month, plus a few days, to ensure hitting the exposed, non-cyst phase.
So as a last resort, we decided to attempt the Alinia, BUT only if we could have the longer dosing schedule and for the entire family since it is highly probable that this originated with one of us, and even if it didn't, we could pass it between us again post-treatment, all dependent on it's method of transition, but I don't like to take chances with our children and their health. Our doctor was open to the treatment protocol I had found to be successful with multiple other families and ironically, our insurance actually covered it!! Over $1000 per person worth of prescriptions, yippeeee!!
So here we are, on our third day of taking the Alinia (two days before the full moon), all of us. I expected to be in a world of hurt, but surprisingly, it's been pleasant....well, hahahahaha, except for those around me, since I am very clearly effected by some form of die off, if you know what I mean (blushing). Not very ladylike to say the least, teehehehe. Gavin has had some gas as well, bowel movements were perfect for the first two days, but today we had what we have come to call Flagyl-poop. Grayson was put on Flagyl years ago, for high levels of Clostridia (bad bacteria) and his BMs were hideous, they floated like chunks of cotton candy, attempting to stick together in what looks like it might have resembled a BM before exiting the body. It is undeniably a die-off symptom. Another interesting fact is that the Alinia also kills anaerobic bacteria like e.coli and clostridia, both of which we know Grayson has had, via stool samples. This prescription has many modes of attacking our boy's ailments. Lets just pray the results are permanent!
To add insult toinjury, two days into taking Alinia, poor Grayson contracted Coxsackie (Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease). He developed a sudden high fever, lethargy, not hungry, sores in the back of his throat and he slept much of yesterday after I loaded him up with 40,000IU of vit D3, OLE (which I confirmed wouldn't interact with the Alinia), Virastop and Lauracidin. He woke without the fever, but was still very lethargic until bedtime, which he did not fight one bit. He was ready. Today, his mood is great, his eyes look bright, he is energetically playing with Gavin and he wants to eat, but his throat hurts too much to swallow anything solid.
Amazingling (knock on wood), Gavin hasn't shown ANY signs of this illness....yet. The contageous period can last weeks as the virus sheds, so I am praying Gavin's immune system is fighting it off successfully. We are helping him with the natural anti-virals too. In fact, Gavin is like a new child yesterday and today! His mood swings are GONE, he is cooperative, compliant, happy and bouncy, his speech and ideas are more complex, he is playing nicely with Grayson (who is playing nicely back, HEAVEN for me), his belly was even flat for the first two days on the Alinia. Today he has a little pouch after the strange BM, but still not as protruded as usual. He's amazing, and I am relieved. There is a glimmer of hope that perhaps this is Gavin's main health issue, and that perhaps we will have it resolved with treatment.
We just ordered follow-up hair tests with Doctor's Data, Inc. to see the progress we have made after a year of chelation with Gavin and two with Grayson. The results should be in between tomorrow and Tuesday...I am so anxious!! Maybe, just maybe, Gavin will still not meet Andy Cutler's counting rules and maybe, just maybe, this parasite will resolve the issues we were tying to mercury toxicity, and maybe, just maybe not having him vaccinated was the smartest thing we ever did!! We'll see, one can hope, right? Without hope, our days look dark. I prefer to see the light at the end of the tunnel, even if my perception may be slightly off occasionally. It can make the days in between seem less stressful.

If it's not one thing, it's another
We are glad that the majority of the mold work end is near and we've stocked up on more camel milk to last us for at least the next couple of weeks, but it never fails, as we sheer the heights of one hurdle, we find ourselves facing yet another, with barely enough time to take a breath between jumps.
After having such a wonderful day yesterday, Gavin took a turn for the worse today. He woke up in great spirits, but was craving tv horribly so I let him watch a few short shows. He had an accident in his pants which looked like watery diarrhea that he couldn't control. He finished on the little potty, because it was closest. When I emptied it, I noticed that there were black thread-like things stuck to the sides and bottom of the bowl. I've never seen anything like this in his stool before so I took a closer look. They looked like worms, with tapered ends. They were slightly thicker than a piece of hair and although they were so fragile looking, they were pretty hearty when I picked them up with a wooden skewer. There were probably 5 or so of them in the bottom of the bowl after dumping the majority of what was in it, so I don't know how many were actually in the entire BM, and they ranged from 1-2 inches in length.
In my research, the only thing I could come up with that remotely resembled what I found in his stool was blood flukes (other than banana fibers, but he hasn't had them in almost a week)! They terrify me, because they can travel throughout the body and prefer to reside in organs like the liver, intestines, lungs and brain where they do their damage. They can cause seizures among other scary things, if untreated. With Grayson's lengthy coughing problem, I worry about them in the lungs! Parasites are so contagious that it would be silly to assume that Grayson isn't also infected with whatever this is. I sent a picture to their doctor to see what he thinks. I am sure he is going to recommend a stool test, which most likely won't find anything unless we pay for a special lab that has the technology to test for these specialized parasites....and frankly, with all the work being done on our house (and no idea of what it is going to cost), the cost of the camel milk, having two birthday boys' parties around the corner, two trips to Connecticut back to back....there just isn't anything left!
What baffles me is, if these are parasites, why are they coming out dead? Could it be that the camel milk is killing something or is it that the camel milk has caused them and everything else we use is killing them? I would think they couldn't grow and show up quite so fast though, we only started the camel milk about a week and a half ago, plus the came owner just had testing of his camels the week before we bought our stash. I have read that fluke infestations often go undetected for years before the adults become visible. I have such a hard time thinking any parasites could live so long in my kids considering all the things they get daily including coconut milk and oil, pumpkin seeds pancakes twice a week and all of the potent anti-microbials we give them three times a day. They are all supposed to be anti-parasitic. This just goes to show you how persistent these nasty critters are. I have read that the camel milk has been known to address persistent parasite problems in people who had been fighting them unsuccessfully for years, so perhaps this is a flushing of some sort.
As soon as he passed them, he became particularly needy, whiny and demanding. It was like someone turned on a switch! He had to go down for his nap earlier than usual, because he just wasn't himself. I gave him a dose of the W-W by Pure Herbs and a small portion of a Goldenseal capsule with his afternoon anti-microbials so I am sure he's going to wake in a nasty mood, if we are killing something. I will have to use this with Grayson as well and even took some myself.
So as usual, onward....research, research, research.

Metametrix DNA microbiology test results
I am experiencing a lot of emotions about the results of the boys' stool tests. One one hand, Grayson's results look great! The test is perfect, he is colonizing the good bacteria (not as high as he should, but better than the last test which had none of some good bacteria), has no significant bad bacteria or yeast and no parasites. As wonderful as it sounds, yes we are clearing things up, chelation is working, and the antimicrobials are working, there is still something going on.
Yeast, bacteria or virus?
For those of you who have been following our story, you know that we had huge issues with Clostridia and yeast in the past, along with symptoms of regression recently. So if they aren't yeast and Clostridia, what are they, right? We have always thought Grayson was a "viral kid", meaning that he would have high levels of live viruses residing in his gut. This was evident by his lack of illnesses when he was two and now his frequent viruses, and it was confirmed when I added OLE (olive leaf extract) to his daily routine. Ten days into treatment, he broke out in a viral rash that looked like the chicken pox, but less severe. It was all over his truck and neck for days. This is a common event for those who are treating for latent viruses. So now all this stool test tells me is that I was right, we need to focus on attacking the viruses, although, we don't know which ones we are aiming for. I can guess that being he was given four live virus vaccines in one visit, before all of this started, we should probably consider the measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox, at minimum. In fact, when we did the vaccine treatment with the BioVeda BAX3000, he had a significant reaction that started right in the office after the treatment. He got really hot, flush and itchy and immediately broke out in yet another rash! Since getting the results of the stool test, I added Monolaurin back into his routine and just two teeny tiny pellets (they are usually given as a scoop of pellets) send him reeling in emotion, impatience, itching, and head swatting comes back along with some minor sensory symptoms. Viral die off can cause a flare in yeast, so it wouldn't be uncommon to see a combination of viral and yeast symptoms. I can tell that the addition of the Monolaurin is doing something to him, because he wakes in the morning in a perfect mood, and then after his dose, the symptoms begin to rise. Using some PectaSol C calms down the itching at least.
The monster within
Ok, now for the interesting one. Gavin's test found a parasite called Dientamoeba Fragilis, also known as DF. (sigh) It's a flagellate protozoan parasite. Sounds nice, doesn't it? I hate to say it, because I probably should have done this test with Gavin sooner, but I had a feeling part of his problems were parasitic. He never gained weight well (always under the growth chart), he eats more than we do some days, he's hungry constantly, always had the red anal ring, severe bloating (especially lately), food sensitivities, eczema, recently he started saying he was having pain in his upper intestinal area and his BMs have always alternated between constipation and loose. I always said his issues were only GI related and ironically, this parasite resides in the large intestines reeking havoc on the GI system. Now take a look at how similar the list of symptoms from emedicine are compared to what we were experiencing:
In chronic infection, duration of symptoms is greater than 1-2 months. Abdominal pain is the more common complaint. In children, pain varies with regards to location, duration, and character.
Other GI complaints include the following:
Other sites go on to say that chronic infections cause food allergies/sensitivities, especially to wheat and milk! Another symptom noticed by those with confirmed cases is green BMs with undigested food. Gavin requires the use of enzymes in order to prevent the undigested food from showing up. He has always had a random green stool here and there and now that I have started treatment for this parasite, just this morning his stool was green! We did the family parasite cleanse only 4 months ago, but we avoided wormwood (artmesia) so I decided to add that in this time. He is most definitely reacting to this treatment with strong emotional frustrations, his tags in his clothes are bothering him suddenly, severe bloating and he is very needy. He's speaking less than previously too, or perhaps it's just more to the point with his unfavorable mood. I hope we are on the right track to dealing with this parasite, because I have read such conflicting information about effective treatment protocols! It appears to be a very hard parasite to eradicate. I'm not surprised though, I heard the same thing about the Clostridia in Grayson. We are combining the anti-parasite treatment with the biofilm protocol (without EDTA) to ensure that the anti-parasitics reach the bugs. I've also read great things about a product called W-W by Pure Herbs. I may do what we are doing now for a little over a month (today happens to be four days before the next full moon, so it was perfect timing to start treating!) and then I will repeat a treatment every month with the W-W which is recommended by using it four days before the full moon until four days after the full moon, for about 9 months. Contrary to this treatment though, I have also read that a prescription called Alinia was successful at eradicating it in another mother/child that were infected with it. But this mother said it was absolutely imperative to use it in high doses for a long time (35+ days). So I think I will try the natural route first, retest and then consider the Alinia, if this doesn't work. I am sure I will see a decrease in symptoms, if this parasite is killed off.
On a good note, already since using the biofilm protocol with the Artmesia and black walnut hull all together for the first time today, his belly is less bloated and his mood is getting better. We also had a green stool this morning, wondering if that signifies die-off....there is much to research!
- Anorexia
- Weight loss
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Bloating
- Flatulence
- Alternating constipation and diarrhea
- Headache
- Fever
- Malaise
- Fatigue
- Irritability
- Weakness
- Pruritus
- Urticaria
Other sites go on to say that chronic infections cause food allergies/sensitivities, especially to wheat and milk! Another symptom noticed by those with confirmed cases is green BMs with undigested food. Gavin requires the use of enzymes in order to prevent the undigested food from showing up. He has always had a random green stool here and there and now that I have started treatment for this parasite, just this morning his stool was green! A topic no one enjoys, but needs to consider
What might that be? Parasites! Yup, parasites. We treat our pets annually, but we don't treat ourselves? The only word that comes to mind is yuck! Rather than me trying to explain how we get them, I am going to refer to the professionals, this information comes from Humaworm, where the owner is of native Indian decent. His grandparents used all of these herbs on a regular basis, his knowledge is from generations of accumulated information and personal experience.

HOW WE GET PARASITES IN THE FIRST PLACE
First, you need to understand that you’re not actually eating worms to become infected – you’re getting infected from the microscopic parasite eggs that can be virtually anywhere. If after reading this section you're thinking "If parasite eggs are everywhere and are so easy to obtain, then why aren't we ALL infected?" The answer? 90% of us ALREADY ARE. Here are some examples of how easily you can become a parasite host:
CONTAMINATED WATER
Water is the primary way parasites infect humans. For example, over 50% of our lakes, river streams and creeks are infected with the protozoa parasite Giardia Lambia. This parasite is not killed by chlorine and is steadily finding it’s way into urban areas with “treated” drinking water. Symptoms of an infestation include, diarrhea and cramping that lasts for over a week and is most often misdiagnosed as the stomach flu.
ALSO when swimmers have parasites and they swim in places with others, the water is then contaminated with eggs from their bodies. It only takes a very small amount of swallowed water to become infected.
OTHER HUMANS
You can obtain parasite eggs from other humans very easily. Since most infections come from the anal-oral route think about this – someone has parasites, they use the restroom, do not wash their hands afterwards, then they sit down and use the salt shaker on the restaurant’s table – they have just deposited microscopic eggs onto this object. You are the next person to sit at this table and use the salt shaker – you then lick your finger or even put your hand to your face – you are now the new host to parasites. Parasite eggs can live under human fingernails for up to 2 months. Think of how many common objects you come into contact with on a daily basis. Even more common infections come from kissing, holding hands, sharing eating utensils and of course, sexual contact.
Usually if one family member is a host to parasites, the entire family is infected. There are many parasite eggs that can live without a host for weeks – for example, microscopic pinworms eggs become airborne and can travel ANYWHERE and they can live for two days outside of a host. These microscopic eggs are inhaled where they then hatch inside your body.
ANIMALS
Animals, including pets, can spread 240 diseases to humans via parasites. By petting or grooming animals, you are picking up eggs that pass from them to us via hands, nose and mouth. ALSO parasite infected fleas and ticks and parasite infected animal feces are concerns. This is why walking barefoot where animals have defecated is a major source of parasite infections - especially when you CAN'T SEE the actual animal feces - you just happen to be walking where they have been before. THINK about this – when your pet (or someone else’s) licks their anus, they are depositing thousands of eggs onto their tongues – then they lick you and those eggs have just been transmitted to their new host. YOU. Americans now have the highest rate of toxoplasmosis parasites in the world. You have probably heard of this one as all pregnant women are warned about toxplasmosis because they can die from an infestation.
Pets and domesticated animals are not the only ones spreading parasites – mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, lice and all other biting insects transmit protozoa (one cell) parasites to humans.
MEATS
Undercooked meats are a very high source of parasite infections. Commercial pork products are also notorious for infections – bacon, ham, pork chops, cold cuts, hot dogs, etc. Also cuts of meat such as beef, lamb, chicken and fish contain parasite eggs. Sushi (raw fish) alone contains eggs and larvae of several species of parasites. We trust the cattle, pork and chicken producers to keep their livestock wormed on a regular basis, but over 50% of animals that go to slaughter are parasite infected.
FRUITS & VEGETABLES
Unwashed fruit and vegetables are also a big source of parasite carriers. A lot of vegetables are eaten raw and according to the Center for Disease Control diseases from fruit and vegetables are on the rise. With a huge demand for fruit and vegetables, we Americans import 30 billion tons of food per year. Some of this food comes from countries where animal manure and human feces are used as fertilizer. This practice greatly increases the spread of parasites. The practice of eating out is also on the rise. Salad bars, infected food handlers, and improperly washed fruits and vegetables are all sources for parasites.
TRAVEL
In our modern age, world travel is a way of life for many. These travelers are bringing home parasites that were once almost unknown in America. Airplanes are a great source for parasite transmission. It's very common for a family to go on vacation and bring back uninvited guests with them. We also have a huge influx of refugee and immigrant populations who are bringing us their countries’ parasites.
HOW YOU CAN HELP PREVENT INFESTATION
REMEMBER this – if parasites are so easy to “catch” then why isn’t everyone infected? Over 90% of us ALREADY ARE – it’s just the parasite’s mission to remain undetected.
Follow the age old advice of DON’T DRINK THE WATER – especially on camping trips, while traveling in foreign countries and when swimming in public places. Filtering your home drinking water also helps, as does boiling water to drink while away from home (camping, in foreign countries, etc.).
Avoid putting your hands in your mouth or touching your face and wash your hands often when out and about shopping, eating out, etc.
Worm your pets (and livestock) twice per year and do not walk barefoot where animals have been known to defecate. Do not allow animals to lick you in the face or mouth.
Thoroughly cook all meats – stay away from raw meats (including sushi) and cold cuts (including hot dogs) if possible.
Thoroughly wash all fruits and vegetables before consuming.
Deworm YOURSELF and your family twice per year to stay clear of any parasitic infestations!

Are you thoroughly disgusted now? Enough to encourage you to do a parasite cleanse yourself? I am! In fact, in the circle of experienced moms I talk to on message boards, parasites is actually a huge topic, because many kids with autism are highly infected. Don't think that you are exempt from these nasty little creatures.
Also, research Hulda Clark and parasites. She was a FABULOUS researcher and doctor who has proven that each illness and disease has a prominent parasite associated with it....remove that parasite from the body with a simple cleanse and cure the disease. No joke! Just watch this video, it's AMAZING! She was a pioneer in this arena and cured people of illnesses that include cancer! This was one remarkable woman. She even addressed the connection of amalgam fillings and mercury as well as how to address the increasing cases of allergies in children....this was at a time when this knowledge wasn't well known.
Hulda Clark video
Our household is on our second parasite cleanse (doing them every 6 months or so) and the first time Gavin is able to be included in the treatment. We use Humaworm based on extensive research, however, for the kids we also add in artemisia/sweet wormwood, because all the most successful and pricey parasite cleanses include this herb. Humaworm includes it for adults, but not kids. So we have made do with a great and affordable cleanse program lacking in one important piece. Their herbs are all organic and the capsules are handmade upon order, so they are as fresh as they can be!
Parasite cleanses are started 4 days before a full moon, because this is when most of them begin to hatch, nice huh? Imagine all that is going on inside you right now, we are walking breathing hosts! Today is the actual full moon and for the first time, Grayson has reacted to the capsule I give him first thing in the morning. Shortly after giving him the capsule, he ran to the couch feeling nauseous. At first he thought he was going to throw up, but he didn't, he just felt awful and laid down a bit, he didn't even want to eat which is unlike him. After about an hour, he was feeling better and in the kitchen looking for a meal. I am convinced this is related to the timing of the cleanse and the full moon. There was potentially something there today that wasn't there yesterday.
I just talked to my friend whose child had a stool test showing DNA positive for a non-human parasite. They are all doing this cleanse now too and ironically, on this full moon day when Grayson is feeling nauseous, her daughter JUST started vomiting. This is actually a pretty typical die off sign for her when she has considerable yeast overgrowth too. Tell me this stuff isn't killing something in our kids??
I know what you are dying to know, have we seen anything gross in our toilets, lol. Nothing that looks like a creature, but keep in mind that at least 70% of parasites are NOT worms or even visible to the naked eye. We have had die off responses to the cleanse though. Even hubby and I are experiencing the wrath of the herbs with some initial exhaustion, diarrhea and (sorry TMI) very itchy bums, eeew! My husband is a very calm and patient person, but on this cleanse, he's a changed person temporarily! He is irritable, snappy and tired. He is most definitely addressing something!
I probably should have warned you not to read this post after a meal?
UPDATE - It's still Tuesday the 24th, the full moon. I just spoke with my panicked friend after changing one of her child's diapers. I can now say that I have personally seen what visible "things" can come out of a person during a parasite cleanse. Let me also say that I did NOT enjoy the lunch I just ate, it was actually painful to eat, because my stomach is cramping. I would post a picture, but considering I post a lot of food pictures with recipes, I will spare you. The bottom line....it was a worm, and NOT a small one! Holy moly, I might be afraid to use the ladies room later!! Oh and what came with this, after the vomiting, was a lot of aggression. I have read repeatedly that parasites cause aggression, even that a lot of jail prisoners are infected with them. There is nothing more humbling than seeing it for yourself though. On a good note, it's OUT of the child now!!

A day of exhaustion
I typically like to keep a level head when it comes to all of this craziness around us, but today is an exception. Today I think I actually know what it feels like to be my kids during treatment. I have decided to treat myself for pathogens like yeast, bacteria, viruses and parasites. I started two days ago with grapefruit seed extract (GSE) and yesterday I added black walnut hull, I had already been doing olive leaf extract (OLE) periodically before all of this too. So today I took all three twice and I have felt extreme exhaustion like I could sleep standing up, worse than when I was pregnant, I have severe brain fog, I'm highly irritable and I almost feel like I don't care about anything around me. It's no fun I tell ya! And I can't even imagine adding in chelation (moving metals) while trying to cope with all of this. I won't even share the details of the physical symptoms I have had, lol, I will spare you those details. Let me just say, something is brewing for sure.
Sometimes I feel like the hermit family. We don't go out as often as I would like, but that is because it's such a chore and we often don't feel well on weekends from chelation (us being tired from all night dosing and the kids just being effected to some degree by the chelation itself). We have to pack all of their foods, snacks and meals, drinks, supplements (especially during chelation when they are SO important, which is on weekends when we would normally be on the go more), enzymes and chelation dosing. It involves an insane amount of preparation and space, lol, our diaper bag is barely enough room for it all. Then we have Gavin's nap right smack in the middle of the day so when we go through all of this preparation to go out, we are limited on free time. Unfortunately, it's just easier to stay home. We hope to use this time to enjoy their youth while we have them at home with us.
